Maybe you already have your plans for watching the big game on Superbowl Sunday. But whether you are wearing blue & white or black & gold, you still have a few days to kill before kickoff! Here’s what we think Chicago real estate owners should do around the city this weekend.
Events
For an event in a very different arena than football, go see August: Osage County at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. A Pulitzer Prize winning play starring an Academy Award winner? How can you go wrong?
For the first time, the Randolph Street Market is holding a Valentine’s Market Saturday and Sunday. For $8 online or $10 at the door, you can browse the ultimate source of antiques, vintage goods and crafts in Chicago. A great bet especially if you are having a hard time picking out the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day!
For all you word lovers, if the Superbowl bores you, try Scrabble Sundays at Swim Cafe in West Town. Start playing between 1 and 4 pm. Winners drink free!
Restaurants
Wednesday welcomed the open of Logan Square brewery, Revolution, so you can stop by this weekend! Not only is the company brewing beer but it’s serving up quality grub in a very hip setting. The bacon-fat popcorn comes highly suggested!
The Southern in Bucktown also opens this week. With southern inspired food and beverages, and the catchphrase “kickass bar and comfort food,” it sounds like a great place to spend a chilly February night!
Movies
Crazy Heart is already winning awards for Jeff Bridges’ acting and T-Bone Burnett’s soundtrack. The flick about an aging country music star is a safe bet this weekend!
The suspenseful thriller Edge of Darkness follows Mel Gibson’s character as he avenges his daughter’s death and finds out why it happened. From the makers of Casino Royale, it should have all the action of a Bond flick!
Chicago real estate owners: the focus might be on football and funny commercials this weekend, but don’t forget to take part in the other exciting events our great city has to offer. We’ll see you out there!
