in General Use

There is so much going on in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs every week. Here’s the best straight from the Chicago real estate experts at Jameson. If you are in the market for Chicago condos or are interested in Chicago homes for sale, check out this weekend’s open houses at Jameson.com.

Events

Come celebrate the holidays on Michigan Avenue! The highly anticipated Magnificent Mile Light Festival starting at 11:00am with live music until 5pm. At 5:30 get ready for the parade followed by fireworks at the Chicago River at Michigan Avenue. To see the full line up of the day’s events click here.

It is running until May, but if you are thinking of doing some exploring this weekend check out Lincoln Park block by block. Visit the locations of infamous events such as the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, the shooting of John Dillinger, the Great Chicago Fire and more. Tickets are $12-$14.

Take the family to the Adler Planetarium this weekend and you’ll not only see the planetarium’s regular exhibits, you’ll get tickets to watch Skywatchers of Africa. This movie explores how Africans have turned to the sky for help with survival techniques, spiritual enrichment, seafaring and more.

Restaurants

Rock Bottom Brewery has open a sister restaurant RB Grille in River North featuring steaks and seafood. It is set up like a pub ,sporting walnut finishes and linen tablecloths topped with butcher paper. The new place might have a different feel from the original, but the amazing beer is still the same.

Love BBQ? The new Logan Square Brand BBQ Market might be for you. This BYOB spot is not your typical BBQ joint – the chalkboard menus hanging on the rusty orange-colored walls include the regular BBQ options as well as fancier fare such as pulled duck and pork belly confit.

Movies

Fans have been waiting for months and it’s finally here The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Need we say more?

Have a wonderful weekend!
