in General Use

One of the best parts of living in any of our Chicago condos or other Chicago real estate is all the festivals and events that take place every weekend, and this weekend is no exception. Regardless of the neighborhood you call home, there’s always a reason to get excited about Friday.

Events

The Field’s Museum Real Pirates Exhibit ends this month on October 25th. Take your family and learn the true story of the Whydah and the ships journey from slave ship to pirate ship with more than 200 artifacts, including cannons, swords, coins, jewelry recovered from the Whydah.

The Sky IMAX Theater at the Alder Planetarium is featuring a new film called Skywatcher of Africa on how Africans turn to the sky for help with survival techniques, spiritual enrichment, and more. It is an impressive movie to begin with but the IMAX makes it special.

The hilarious Jerry Seinfeld is at the Rosemount Theater this weekend, tickets start at $45. He will be doing two shows – one at 7pm  and 10pm on Saturday.

If you’re doing some fall (or early holiday) shopping downtown,  stop by the Palmer House for some afternoon tea from 2 to 4pm.

Restaurants

Football Sunday brunch and buffet at The Grotto in Oakbrook. The buffet features bruschetta, shrimp, oysters, clams, smoked salmon, omelets, ham, prime rib, French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, and bagels – there’s something for everyone!

Red Brick thin crust pizza and various delicious pastas sounds great on a chilly fall day. Check on this BYOB on Irving Park Road.

Movies

Get out of your Chicago home for a few hours and take the kids to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 3D IMAX this weekend, now playing at Navy Pier, Lincolnshire, and South Barrington.

Have a girl’s night and get away from the husband and kids and go see Love Happens starring the lovely Jennifer Aniston.

Have a great weekend everyone!
