About Michael

Michael Downing specializes in locating and analyzing investment properties and development sites for his clients. Prior to joining Jameson in 2004, Michael was co-owner of MDK Development, a residential builder and contractor focused on investment rental property. As a principal of MDK, he handled all aspects of the development process including; identifying undervalued or value-add properties, analyzing each asset to determine the best use, overseeing construction and restoration, and marketing the properties for resale. Michael graduated from the University of Iowa in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and spent 3 years in engineering sales and marketing before starting his career in real estate. In 2007 he was named as one of Jameson Real Estate’s top producers. He currently resides in Bucktown with his family.
