CHICAGO-Condo buyers looking to double their living pleasure may choose from over a dozen duplex condominium developments being marketed by Jameson Realty Group in the city.

The company is currently offering a wide array of new construction and renovated duplex condominiums in an assortment of North Side developments in Rogers Park, Ravenswood, Albany Park, Andersonville, Ravenswood Manor and Margate Park.

"Condominium shoppers looking for the space of a single-family home without the maintenance can choose from a large selection of duplex residences," said Charles Huzenis, president of Jameson Realty Group, which is currently marketing a collection of duplexes in a mix of Chicago neighborhoods.

In a duplex, you can get more living space, Huzenis said. "Also, because the floor plan has two levels, the master bedroom and secondary bedroom or den are on one level while the kitchen and dining and living rooms are on another. This allows for extra privacy," Huzenis said.

"Duplex condominiums also provide residents with a nice separation of space. Residents can live and entertain in their common areas-kitchen and living, dining and family rooms-and have the bedrooms on a separate level," Huzenis said.

Another lure of the duplex is that it feels like a single-family home with maximum space but without the maintenance, he said.

"Duplexes also offer the conveniences and security of a condominium with the expanded space usually found in a townhome or single-family home," Huzenis said. "Duplexes are the perfect choice for all types of buyers, from empty-nesters to younger couples and growing families."

Many of the duplex condo developments are housed in older courtyard buildings and smaller apartment properties. Although the walk-up courtyard buildings were built years ago, today's vintage condo-conversion developers typically offer major refurbishments in duplexes such as new electrical and heating systems as well as new bathrooms and kitchens.

"Duplex condo buyers want new kitchens with granite counters, stainless-steel appliances, marble baths, refurbished hallways, new windows, upgraded roofs and mechanical systems," Huzenis said. "And, all of our duplexes have top of the line products."

Still other duplex condominiums sport new construction, some with modern architecture and others with Old World-style architectural influences. Like their vintage counterparts, all of these duplexes feature new interiors with all the amenities, Huzenis said.

Jameson Realty Group currently has dozens of duplex condominiums on the market. Here is a look at some of the choices:

  • Marquette Row. This new construction condominium at 676-693 N. Peoria has 45 condos housed in five buildings. The residences have 2 or 3 bedrooms and buyers may opt for a duplex or simplex condo. Base prices range from $349,900 to $589,900.

    Some of the highlights are floor-to-ceiling windows, white oak hardwood floors, oversized shower with body sprays, fireplace with stone surround and kitchens with granite countertops, custom cabinets and a stainless steel appliance package.

  • 3016 W. Belle Plaine. All but two of the 11 condos in this walk-up apartment building have been sold. Remaining floor plans are a 1-bedroom, 1-bath simplex priced at $142,900 and 2-bedroom, 2-bath duplexes priced at $229,900.

    The kitchens have granite countertops, 42-inch cabinetry and a stainless-steel appliance package. Other highlights include hardwood flooring, natural stone baths, in-unit washer/dryer and central heating and air-conditioning systems.

  • 2916-2924 Berteau Condominiums Only two duplex condominiums are available at this 10-unit vintage red brick building is located at 2916-2924 W. Berteau in the Ravenswood neighborhood on the North Side.

    The 2-bedroom duplexes feature 2 baths and a study. The remaining duplexes are priced at $269,900.

    The kitchens have granite countertops and a stainless-steel appliance package. Other highlights include hardwood flooring, natural stone baths, in-unit washer/dryer and central heating and air-conditioning systems. A virtual tour is available.

  • The Yellowstone This 27-unit renovated vintage courtyard condominium is at 1667-1673 W. Farwell in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side is more than 50-percent sold.

    The remaining simplex and duplex condos have 2 to 3 bedrooms and 1 to 2 baths and are base priced from $209,900 to $329,900. Garden units are priced from $174,800.

  • Paulina Ridge Court Only two residences remain at this beautifully rehabbed 43-unit vintage condominium located at 5909 N. Paulina in the Ravenswood neighborhood.

    Priced at $229,900 and $279,900 for the duplex, all of the condos have private balconies, oak hardwood flooring, marble baths and kitchens with granite countertops and a stainless-steel appliance package. Condos also have gas-forced heating and air-conditioning systems.

  • Winthrop Terrace Condominiums
  • Only three units remain for sale at this 19-unit vintage condominium development is at 4936-4938 N. Winthrop in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side.

    The 1-bedroom-plus-den and 2-bedroom simplex units and duplexes with 2 bedrooms and 2-bedrooms plus den range in base price from $159,900 to $254,900. Garden units are sold out. To date, 85 percent of the condos have been sold.

    All of the residences feature new wood decks, hardwood floors, marble baths and kitchens with granite countertops and a stainless-steel appliance package.

  • 2228 W. Hamilton Priced from $249,900 to $459,900, these six 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom 1- to 2.5-bath duplex and simplex condominiums are located in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood.

    Unit finishes include kitchens with 42-inch cabinets and stone counters, hardwood floors and private balconies. Deeded parking is available. A model is open on Sundays from noon to 2 p.m.
